Worm Gear Sets

STANDARD CMD

For more than 60 years, CMD Durand, as a specialist in worm gears, has also been developing and supplying high quality worm gear sets for numerous applications in general engineering and for precision drives. The shafts and gears are designed according to CMD standards and manufactured in the required quality.

  • Toothing quality according to DIN 3974, ISO 1328:

  • Quality: 7 (general mechanical engineering)

  • Quality: 3 4 5 6 (precision mechanical engineering)

  • Axial module: 1 to 36 mm

  • Shafts made of high-alloy steel, gear teeth hardened (induction, case hardening or nitriding),

  • Flanks ground with Klingelnberg or Durand machines

  • Wheels made of nickel bronze (GK, GM) or centrifugal casting (GZ) for highest mechanical properties and wear resistance.

Thanks to the design software, CMD can produce special designs in all sizes to meet the customer's requirements.
The contact pattern of the gearing is simulated in advance by computer according to CMD standards. Specific contact patterns can be adapted to special customer requirements in terms of position and size.

The wheels are toothed on Pfauter CNC or Durand machines. These can be used to produce the optimum contact pattern for oil film formation or for adjusting the working flank under full load.
This ensures safe operation from the time of commissioning. Durand worm and wheel sets are tested in accordance with QA standards and thus guarantee the required quality class.
